After suffering a 5-2 loss to Inter Milan in the previous match, AC Milan’s coach, Stefano Pioli, changed the lineup. He brought in Tommaso Pogbega and Chukwueze, replacing Tijjani Reijnders and Christian Pulisic.
Both teams started cautiously, but AC Milan soon took control of the game and created many scoring opportunities.
Olivier Giroud missed a chance, Rafeel Leao had difficulty with his shots in the penalty area, and Samuel Chukwueze missed a close-range header. This summed up AC Milan’s struggles in front of the goal.
