Nigerian musicians, including Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide, have received nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards.
Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning artist, leads with four nominations, while Davido, Asake, Arya Starr, and Olamide earned their first nominations. The artists are collectively nominated in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category, alongside South Africa’s Tyla.
The nominated songs in this newly established category include Asake and Olamide’s ‘Amapiano’, Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Davido and Musa Keys’ ‘Unavailable’, and Tyla’s ‘Water’.

Burna Boy secured additional nominations for ‘Sitting On Top of the World’ featuring 21 Savage in the Best Melodic Rap category, ‘I Told Them’ for Best Global Music Album, and ‘Alone’ for Best Global Music Performance.
Davido also received nods for ‘Timeless’ in the Best Global Music Album category and ‘Feel’ for Best Global Music Performance.
The 66th Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
