Veteran Nollywood actor and comedian, Femi Ogunrombi popularly known as Papa Ajasco, is dead.
The actor’s demise was announced by a culture critic and broadcaster Shaibu Husseini, on Sunday, January 15.
In a post on Twitter, Shaibu who is also an actor said Papa Ajasco’s death was confirmed to him by a reliable source.
“I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with @NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular @waleadenugaprod Comic Series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is DEAD! Journey well Sir,” the tweet read.
Ogunrombi, who gained prominence through his Papa Ajasco role in Wale Adenuga’s comic series, was a music instructor.
He was also a former ethnomusicologist with the National Troupe.
As at the time of filing this report, details surrounding his death are yet unknown.
