Nigerian Nollywood industry has once again been thrown into sudden mourning after news of popular Yoruba actor, Murphy Afolabi’s death circulates the internet.
The actor who celebrated his birthday sometime last week on Friday, May 5th, 2023 was reported to have kicked the bucket.
Ikejabird found out about their tragic news when a well-known actor and producer of the Nollywood industry, Ola Yusuf took to his Facebook to mourn the death of the celebrity.

Although there had not been details about the cause of the 49-year-old death but friends and colleagues took to their respective social media accounts to mourn his death.
A thorough check on Murphy Afolabi’s Instagram page showed that less than 24 hours ago, Murphy posted on his social media account leaving many in wonder. A fan however explained that it was speculated that his sudden death was from his fall on the tiles.

Nigerian Comedian Peteru Dies, family releases statement
In other news, Nigerian entertainment industry was plunged into morning following the death of popular event compere and comedian, Peteru.
Born Oluwatobi Owomoyela, the Ibadan-based comedian was reported to have passed away on Thursday, December 22, following a battle with lung cancer.
A family statement released on Thursday described Peteru’s death as devastating and called for privacy as they “grieve and mourn this huge loss.”
