Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has addressed the discrepancies in his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) certificate.
The clarification came in response to allegations of forgery made by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a post on twitter, Atiku’s aide, Dele Momodu stated that some members of the ruling party had raised concerns about the name “Sadiq Abubakar” appearing on Atiku’s WAEC certificate, which differed from his other credentials.

Yes I used Sadiq Abubakar
According to Momodu, Atiku confirmed using the name “Sadiq Abubakar” to sit for his WAEC exams.
However, after passing the exams, he swore an affidavit to affirm that he is the same person as Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku further emphasized that he used his real name during his time at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), during interviews with the Federal Civil Service Commission, and when he was hired into the Customs Service.
Momodu urged members of the APC to forward their questions directly to their party leaders for a prompt response.

Meanwhile Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, the spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, addressed the accusations made by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku had accused President Tinubu of forgery and vowed to challenge his victory in the 2023 election until the Supreme Court ruled on the matter.
During an interview with BBC, Abdulaziz dismissed Atiku’s claims, stating that the presentation of any evidence against Tinubu in the Supreme Court had reached a dead end.
