Boy spyce’s first studio single of the year titled Folake has been released under Mavin records on Thursday.
A midbeat, danceable and pleasant bubbles of ear candy, Folake is a piece of music that ticks almost all the boxes.
On first listen, it has all the elements of a tune that would not fizzle out in a week or two like many songs are fated in a highly competitive music ecosystem.
Folake has a relatable storyline about a man who is in love with a damsel that most Nigerian would call a slay queen; she now has a car, joined the middle class with unclear means, and develops scarce presence.
In what appears to be the only Yoruba line in the songs, Boy spyce professed love to her subject; you are the only one I want, I want to be committed to you.
Folake is catchy, spiced with sweetened on repeat value, a song that is made for the top chart. Folake, once again, proves why Boy Spyce is one of the best new crop of artists made for the stars.
It is another hat off for Mavin Boss Don Jazzy whose talent management skill has birthed some awesome school of artiste such as Rema, Ayra Starr, Reekado Banks, Ladipoe among many others.
