Best Governor ever: Lagos raises N134.8bn in bond for infrastructure

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has surprised Lagosians by announcing that his administration secured N134.8 billion through long-tenure bonds.

According to his statement on Tuesday, the governor said the bond is the transaction instrument for the first sets of allotments in the N1 trillion debt and hybrid issuance program.

Mr. Governor also revealed that his government would execute various projects pre-inspected by the Securities and Exchange Commission with proceeds from the bond and sukuk.

Good news for Lagosians 

In addition, he emphasized that the investments would help in boosting infrastructure development in the state and would as well stimulate economic growth.

Furthermore, Babajide Sanwo-Olu also said the investment would create job opportunities and enhance the quality of life of Lagosians.

The governor in his words added that some of his planned projects in Lagos include refurbishing 33 public schools in Ajegunle, road infrastructure on the Lekki-Epe corridor, drainage works, and more.

Governor Sanwo-Olu meets with ChatGpt founders 

Meanwhile, Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the 19th of May, 2023 met with the CEO of OpenAI, Mr. Sam Altman, and other young tech entrepreneurs.

The meeting was held at the United States Consul General, Will Stevens’ residence. There, the governor and the bodies discussed the progress and better ways to improve the stress-saving tech tool, ChatGPT
