Labour Party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, warns all party members to get prepared for a possible re-run of 2023 presidential election.

He suspects that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) are already getting ready for a re-run of the 2023 Presidential Election already.

Abure revealed that the APC is aware that they are facing difficulties in the ongoing legal challenge against the election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

We are keeping our hope and confidence alive

While the Labour Party wants Peter Obi to be declared the President of Nigeria outright, Abure acknowledged the need to prepare for a re-run in case the government’s alleged plans come true.

Abure expressed confidence in the evidence presented to the court and remained hopeful that the tribunal, and potentially the Supreme Court, would rule in their favor.

He also mentioned the party’s ability to change the country’s political landscape within nine months and emphasized the need to build on their achievements.

Peter Obi is not a Labour Party member

In the same meeting, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze, the Director of the ObiDatti Presidential Campaign, called on party members living abroad to see the struggle to regain their mandate as a collective responsibility that cannot be abandoned.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Labour Party’s presidential campaign council, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, refuted a report claiming that Peter Obi hinted at becoming Nigeria’s president in 2027.

Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima provided evidence suggesting that Obi was not a registered member of the Labour Party, raising questions about his eligibility to run for president under the party’s banner.
