Nigerian Lawyer, Liborous Oshoma, has made his views known on the ongoing controversy regarding the alleged certificate forgery involving President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar has accused Tinubu of presenting forged certificates from the Chicago State University (CSU) to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
However, according to Oshoma, he doesn’t want to be dragged into the controversy because he views it as a ‘comic fight’ and entertainment.

Speaking on Friday during an interview appearance on Arise TV, Oshoma added that the politicians drafted the laws including the constitution and the electoral act. Hence, they always know how to exploit the loopholes.
He added however that Section 137 of the constitution clearly states that a person cannot be qualified for presidency of the country if the said person presents a forged certificate to INEC while also referring to section 29 of the Electoral Act.
In his view, therefore, the law must be examined holistically to reach any meaningful conclusion. A proper investigation must also be carried out into the activities of third-party agents of CSU regarding the matter.
“These politicians know what they’re doing. These laws – the constitution, the electoral act – they made it. And so, when they give with one hand, they take with another. And so, that’s why we say you read the laws holistically,” Oshoma submitted.
Atiku is confused – Tinubu
In related news, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, the spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, addressed the accusations made by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During an interview with BBC, Abdulaziz dismissed Atiku’s claims, stating that the presentation of any evidence against Tinubu in the Supreme Court had reached a dead end.
He asserted that President Tinubu was not concerned about the case before the Supreme Court since Chicago State University had provided all the necessary documents to support them.
