Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President, made a statement regarding the G-5 governors, a group of former PDP governors.

 He claimed that these governors were aligning themselves with President Tinubu and the new administration due to their aspirations for appointments, protection, and relevance

Atiku emphasized that their decision to not support him was not out of goodwill of the people but their selfishness and he  cautioned Nigerians not to be deceived by their actions.

Atiku attacks Fayose 

Atiku also  criticized Fayose for not openly campaigning for Bola Tinubu during the presidential election, suggesting that he should have shown his support earlier. 

He also alleged that Fayose was attempting to evade his own corruption case at the Federal High Court, valued at N1.7 billion, by seeking favor from Tinubu.

Atiku Abubakar accused the G-5 governors of joining President Tinubu’s camp for personal gain, asserted that their actions were not driven by patriotism, and criticized Fayose’s motives for supporting Tinubu.

 Fayose speaks on Tinubu’s cabinet appointment

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, recently shared his thoughts on President Bola Tinubu’s potential cabinet picks.

He also stated the significant role played by the G5 also known as the Integrity Group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in securing Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

As President Tinubu takes office, there are expectations for him to announce his cabinet within 60 days. Speculations have arisen regarding the potential inclusion of individuals from opposition parties, including Wike and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), in key roles within the new government.
