Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has taken legal action against Bola Tinubu in the United States over his academic records .
He filed a new case in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois after withdrawing a previous one in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.

His academic records from chicago
The issue revolves around the release of Tinubu’s academic records from Chicago State University, which has been a subject of controversy since he declared his intention to run for the presidency in 2023.
Tinubu’s qualifications, including a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Administration, majoring in Accounting, have been questioned.
Shaibu emphasized that the transparency of the candidates vying for the Office of the President is crucial, and Atiku seeks to shed light on Tinubu’s educational history.
The court dismissed the previous suit
He pointed out that Tinubu’s background and credentials remain unknown, unlike other presidents who have invited their former classmates to Aso Rock Villa.
The court in Illinois dismissed Atiku’s previous suit after his formal withdrawal. However, Atiku’s new case in the U.S. District Court aims to continue the pursuit of Tinubu’s academic records.
Tinubu’s attorney, Victor Henderson, has stated that Tinubu is a respected figure and a distinguished graduate of Chicago State University, and his qualifications are well known in the State of Illinois.
Despite this affirmation, Atiku is persisting in seeking further information through the legal process.
