Tolu Ogunlesi, a Nigerian journalist and President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on new and digital media, says he has no official car or house despite his closeness to the presidency for the past seven years.
The 40-year-old made this disclosure while responding to questions on a podcast show, Mic on the Podcast.
Ogunlesi said he also feels the brunt of policies and decisions made by the presidency the same way ordinary Nigerians are feeling.
He also stated that no one should castigate him for rolling out the achievement of the current government.
” I work for the president for seven years. I do not have an official car, I do not have an official house, and I do not have an official driver. I do everything you do as a citizen.
“I deal with everything you have to deal with as a citizen. I know you may be angry.. tell me how I have done anything out of place,” he said.
Ogunlesi, a poet, photographer, fiction writer, and blogger, was appointed media aide to the president in February 2016, one year after the president was inaugurated.
