On Thursday, Nigerian conjoined twins named Hassana and Hassina underwent a successful 14-hour operation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The twins, born in Kaduna, Nigeria, on January 12, 2022, shared vital organs such as the abdomen, pelvis, liver, intestines, and urinary and reproductive systems.
The specialised surgical team at King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children in King Abdulaziz Medical City announced that the twins were in stable condition following the procedure. The 85-member multidisciplinary team performed the surgery under the directives of King Salman, demonstrating the kingdom’s commitment to humanitarian efforts.

Yahaya Lawal, Nigeria’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, expressed his gratitude to King Salman, the crown prince, and the entire leadership of the kingdom for their generous humanitarian gesture towards the conjoined Nigerian twins.
