Al Nassr coach Rudi Garcia has blamed Cristiano Ronaldo over an awful night that saw the side crash out of the Saudi Super cup semi final on Thursday.
Al Nassr lost 3-1 against Al-Ittihad and Garcia believed Ronaldo’s clear miss in the first half was central to their capitulation.
The forward featured in the entire 90 minutes of the match and made some threatening strikes that failed to land at the back of the net.
Al Nassr coach did not hide his disappointment against the forward who he says could have scored when he had a clear chance.
“One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano Ronaldo’s missed opportunity in the first half,” Rudi Garcia told reporters after the match.
Al Nassr had hoped that with the presence of the highly experienced talisman, they would cruise to victory but they were stunned when they crash out after climbing to the semi final.
Since joining the club, Ronaldo has failed to register a goal in his first two competitive matches.
The 38-year-old will hope to brush this defeat behind him and start firing on all cylinders moving forward.
