Life has dealt a lot of us a hard blow, and this include our celebrities. Let’s take a look at 10 celebrities who have lost someone special to them.

Davido

The billionaire singer lost his son Ifeanyi on Monday, October 31st after he drowned in his Banana Island swimming pool. He and his girlfriend Chioma Rowland were said to have left their son in the care of a domestic staff while they were away. The little boy who just turned 3 on October 20th was confirmed dead upon getting to the hospital.

D’banj


Nigerian singer, D’banj lost his one-year-old son in 2018. The little boy suffered the same fate as Ifeanyi as he drowned in his father’s Ikoyi residence swimming pool. The Fall in Love crooner was at the BET Awards ceremony in Los Angeles when the incident happened.

Don Jazzy


The Mavin Records boss shared that he lost his mum to cancer in July. While sharing the news on his Instagram page, he wrote, “I am beyond devastated. I have never felt pain like this in my life but I am consoled by the good life she lived. She was loved by everyone that ever met her.
“She was so strong till the last minute for us even while she battled with cancer.
“I have never typed a more difficult caption in my life. Please pray for our mum’s soul to rest in peace and for strength for my dad, my siblings, her grandchildren and our entire family to bear this loss.”

Lasisi Elenu

Lasisi Elenu, skit maker and comedian took to his Instagram page in March to announce the death of his mother, Grace. He disclosed that his mother battled sickness for many years.
“So this is truly how it feels to lose someone so precious to you. This is the saddest moment of my life. With so much pain and a heavy heart I say Rest in Peace Mummy. “Madam Grace Osaivbie Afolabi” is gone!!
“You were my biggest fan. You laughed to the littlest things I did or said, even after you couldn’t control your laughs, there were still so many things I knew “Yeah this would naturally make Mummy laugh”

Olamide


The YBNL boss lost his mother on January 30, 2018, which was his son’s birthday. The rapper took to his Instagram page to type in Yoruba “orisa bi iya o sí” meaning there is no goddess like a mother. He made the post hours after he made a post celebrating his son.

The star filmmaker lost her younger brother Uvie Eseoghene Ejenobor. He died from a kidney ailment in 2017.

Yemi Alade


Mama Africa lost her father Mr J.A Alade in 2015. Her late father was a retired commissioner of police.

Kizz Daniel


The popular hit singer lost his father in 2015 shortly after his 21st birthday. The Buga crooner announced the passing away of his dad on his Instagram page.

Dr Sid


Dr Sid’s father passed away in 2013. He was 71 when he died after a brief illness.

Mr Ibu


Legendary actor, Mr Ibu lost his 2-year-old son Emmanuel Mandela Okafor in 2012. Following the little boy’s death, Mr Ibu blamed the hospital for not putting in their best to save his son.
