Actress Cynthia Okereke dies a year after kidnappers’ release

The Nollywood industry has once again been shoved into mourning after veteran Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke was announced dead on Tuesday, July 11th.

Her friend and colleague, Joseph Okechukwu made this known when he took to social space to confirm her death.

This heartbreaking news is coming 12 months after Cynthia Okereke was released from the hands of kidnappers who abducted her and another of her colleague, Clemson Cormel.

Joseph revealed that he was about to pay for Cynthia Okereke’s ticket to the US but unfortunately, heard the news that she died on Tuesday night.

“The fact that I was about to pay for your flight ticket to come finish what we started only to here you went to be with Lord just last night is one of the toughest things I’ve had to deal with in recent times. I pray I’m able to recover from this shock. Life is really just a mist. One minute you have it, the next you don’t,” he said.

Actor Adekola Tijani tearfully recounts final moment with late Murphy Afolabi

In other news, Nollywood actor, Adekola Tijani recalled his final interaction with his buddy and coworker Murphy Afolabi before the latter’s terrible death.

On Sunday, May 14, Murphy Afolabi passed away as a result of a bathroom accident at his Lagos home. On Monday, May 16, in the evening, he was buried.

Murphy’s burial was held in Ikorodu yesterday, and Adekola Tijani spoke with Goldmynetv there. He recalled how the late actor led a very modest life and was well-liked by many people.
