A disabled Nigerian graduate who just finalized studies at Benue State University shared his experience.
The young man, Terungwa David Tuwha who has had to be confined to a wheelchair since early in childhood.
He shared how he was able to push through the rigors that come with university education.
In sharing how he became confined to the wheelchair, he stated that he was not born that way.
His disability occurred as a result of a chronic medical condition known as Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).
He overcame the storms
At some point in childhood, he started experiencing weakness in his legs and the weakness progressively worsened.
CIDP is a neurological disorder that involves progressive weakness and reduced senses in the arms and legs.
David narrated the difficulties he experienced while in the university as a student.
The challenges I experienced during my education mostly were going upstairs for lectures or during tests. There are rough roads which always spoil the wheelchair chair tyre” he said.
Amidst all the hardships, the 28 year old doggedly maintained his balance and has graduated from the institution.

Meanwhile, a homeless and disabled man identified as Donovan has been handed a life-changing opportunity after he was gifted a prosthetic leg by a good Samaritan.
Donning an old hat and sitting helplessly on his feeble wheelchair, Donovan had thought “life was over” but a rare constant with Isaiah Garza, a social media influencer ushered in a huge sigh of relief.
Garza, a designer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, YouTuber and Tiktoker asked him to make a wish which Donovan said to walk again.
