In a shocking turn of events, suspected thieves have reportedly raided the palace of the late Oba James Sodiya, the Olu of Ogunmakin town in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. The incident occurred just two months after the monarch’s passing.
The daring attackers broke into the late monarch’s palace on Thursday, perpetrating a crime that has left the community in disbelief.
Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and addressed the media in Abeokuta on Saturday, shedding light on the ongoing investigation

Police recovers the crown
Odutola condemned the act as an abomination, highlighting the seriousness of the offense. While the police have successfully recovered the stolen crown, they are still actively searching for the missing staff of office.
The investigation has led to the arrest of three suspects: Oke Oladipupo, Amusa Kazeem, and Johnson Oluwole.
Some people entered the late king’s residence around 2:00 AM on October 12, 2023, committing a crime that has sent shockwaves through the region.
