Every year, cinemas across Nigeria come alive with excitement as film lovers troop in to celebrate Nigeria Cinema Day. This year, the celebration will take place on Saturday, 01 November 2025, offering Nigerians the rare chance to watch films on the big screen for just ₦2,000.
Introduced in 2023 by Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), Nigeria Cinema Day was created to revive the cinema-going culture and make movie experiences more affordable and accessible to the general public.
It also serves as a way to honour the steady rise and global influence of Nollywood, which has become one of the largest film industries in the world. Since its launch, the initiative has been embraced by cinemas nationwide, drawing crowds of film enthusiasts eager to take part in the celebration.
This year’s edition promises to be no different. Cinemas such as Silverbird, Genesis, Viva, Ozone and more, are expected to screen a mix of Nigerian blockbusters and international hits throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere that brings people together.
