“Let’s hang out” seems fun but the stress of looking for the perfect place could be tiring. Somehow, we have limited our perfect hang-out spots to three things:
a) Team Boujee: dining in luxurious restaurants, eating new dishes to expand our taste buds. But it gets tiring, no one loves to be interrogated on the first date.
b) Team Movie Freaks: hanging out in the cinemas whenever a new blockbuster is out. This seems nice when you relive the moment, but not if movie is below standard.
c) Game Night: a nice choice because you get to have fun. Although you need lots of money to enjoy yourself. Besides, after the euphoria, you realize thousands of naira has been spent in just games.
Nothing wrong with the above options except that it becomes a routine. Have you ever tried something new during a date; the thrill is exciting and this is what makes a perfect date. If you have not done so, welcome to the party, let’s go painting at:
Sip and Paint. NG:
It’s a relaxing place with the sole purpose of painting for fun. A stress-free environment to make life feel a little bit simpler, the feeling of endless flow of wine and creating a masterpiece suitable for framing at home.
If you hear a voice within you saying you cannot paint, by all means paint and that voice will be silenced – Vincent Van Gogh
We might not be excellent artists, but you do not need to have prior experience before you try something new, packages come with wine, art instructor and art supplies. There is the Naija box platter (snail, asun, chicken wings, puff puff plantain and sauce).
A key feature of art is rooted in the emotional outlet, the therapeutic healing from a fall-out with cliques, friends or colleagues. Also, it’s a great place if you are looking to meet new people and expand your social circle.
It’s not surprising that during the fun-filled activity, you could get hungry. No need to worry about it, you could head over to: The Metaphor, Lagos. A social house and order different delicacies.
Terra Kulture:
Set up to promote the richness and diversity of Nigerian languages, arts and culture.
Indeed food and art is a good combination. The art in Terra Kulture is not only limited to painting and admiration of artwork. It expands to the circle of theatre; for our stage play lovers, Terra Kulture is a nice place to watch plays.
More than theatrical performance, there is also a bookstore at Terra Kulture where African works are celebrated. You could attend a book reading of your favourite artist with your loved ones. Terra Kulture anchors book readings and book fairs. These reading sessions have helped our upcoming writers. The Terra Kulture Art Gallery is also a place to showcase African art.
Eating is a necessity but cooking is an art, in Terra Kulture Food Court, you can eat beautiful artwork.
Lekki Leisure Lake:
Since nature is the greatest source of art, Lekki Leisure Lake is one of the coolest hang-out spots. This is a relaxation spot with an astounding view of the sea. It is for everyone (couple, family, clique). While you get to relax and chill, there are tons of physical activities you would enjoy. These activities include Zip Line, Quad Bikes, Rope Course, Water bikes, Boat rides, Paddle boats, Wave boats and many more. A restaurant and lounge are also located within its environment.
Dear readers, hanging out involves a lot of fun activities other than eating. Try to put a smile on everyone’s face as you hang out this weekend. Also, always remember to try something new.
