On Friday, March 13, 2026, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Onigbongbo Local Branch, in conjunction with IkejaBird, held its 2026 Annual Ramadan Lecture, focusing on moral decadence among youths.
The lecture, themed “Moral Decadence Amongst the Youth and Islamic Antidotes,” drew members of the community and dignitaries, including Hon. Omotolani Anisere, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Ibikunle Oluwo, Supervisor on State Matters, and Mrs Tawakalt Sanni Taiwo, Head of the Department of Agriculture.

During the lecture, the guest speaker, Ustadh Qasim Badrudeen, spoke extensively about morals decline among youths and urged them to embrace Islamic values such as modesty, good character, and discipline, as antidotes to these challenges.
Speaking to IkejaBird, the coordinator, Comr. Adedeji Sanya emphasized that the lecture formed part of a broader strategy to sensitize youths on values, civic responsibility, and the importance of faith, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
The lecture concluded with calls for ongoing collaboration between religious institutions, youth organisations, and local authorities to tackle moral challenges, strengthen ethical values, and foster community development.
