Super Eagles Soar Past Angola Into AFCON Semifinals

The Super Eagles of Nigeria continued their dominant run at the Africa Cup of Nations, defeating a valiant Angolan side 2-0 to advance to the tournament’s semifinals.

Despite Angola’s best efforts, the Nigerians proved too strong on the day. The opening goal came in the 41st minute courtesy of Ademola Lookman, who slotted home after some brilliant buildup play from Moses Simon down the right flank.

The Super Eagles controlled the match from that point on, though Angola did have some half-chances to equalize before the break.

The second half saw Nigeria firmly in the driver’s seat, passing the ball around with ease and looking dangerous on the counter.

The game was sealed in the 70th minute when Victor Osimhen powered in a header from a free kick, only for it to be ruled offside by VAR. 

The 1-0 scoreline was a fair reflection of Nigeria’s dominance. The win sets up a mouthwatering semifinal clash with [opponent], as the Super Eagles look to add to their previous AFCON titles in 1980, 1994 and 2013.
