A popular Nigerian student named Subair Enitan, who attempted to break the record for longest washing hours has denied rumours that she was hospitalized after trying to set the world record for the longest handwashing marathon.
Enitan is a student at Obafemi Awolowo University. She recently tried to break the Guinness World Record by washing her hands for more than 50 straight hours. She started washing her hands on Friday, November 24th.
In a video posted online, Enitan clarified that she did not end up in the hospital. “I’m sure you can see I’m very much okay. So to the people saying I landed in the hospital – I didn’t,” she said.

Enitan washed her hands for 58 hours, exceeding her goal of 50 hours. Her effort was sponsored by companies and supported by fans from her university. In the video, she thanked her school, sponsors and fans.
Enitan has not been confirmed as the new Guinness World Record holder for longest handwashing, even though she washed her hands for longer than the previous record. The record keepers still need to verify her attempt before making it official.
But Enitan clarified that despite the long event, she is doing well. “I’ve been in my house with family and team members. I’ve been sleeping,” she said.
So while very tired from all the handwashing, Enitan wanted to dispel false rumours and let her supporters know she did not suffer any severe health issues in her marathon attempt. She seems confident her attempt will be verified by Guinness soon.
