A lot of controversy is swirling around comedian Mr Ibu’s wife Stella Maris after she released a surprise apology video aimed at the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
Earlier, Stella had said that the AGN did not help her husband Mr Ibu when he was very sick. Mr Ibu is a famous actor and comedian in Nigeria. He was very ill and was in the hospital intensive care unit.
After Stella said AGN did not assist them, actress Kate Henshaw made a video. Kate is the public relations person for AGN. She said it was not true that AGN did not help Mr Ibu. She showed a photo of herself visiting Mr Ibu in hospital and talking with him there.

Now Stella has changed what she said before. She made a new video with actor Uche Maduagwu. In the video, she apologized to AGN for saying nobody in the organization assisted her husband.
Stella now claimed somebody tricked her into making those comments against AGN before. She says some people made her think wrongly that Mr Ibu was not getting support from his fellow actors while he was so sick.
The wife continued saying that Kate Henshaw did come to see Mr Ibu when he was in ICU. Stella says Mr Ibu and Kate even joked around together, so he was still able to talk at that time even though he was still very ill.
Stella did not explain clearly who manipulated her comments against AGN or how they exactly did it. She also did not say exactly why she is now taking back her statements after people got so upset.
Some journalists asked Stella to explain better. But she has not provided more details yet on how she was tricked before criticizing AGN. She has only said sorry for alleging that her husband did not get help from the actors organization when he desperately needed it.
Stella and Mr Ibu have been in the news also because of legal issues with a girl claiming to be their daughter. The controversy continues in their family even as Mr Ibu slowly gets better after being so sick in hospital this year.
