Barcelona vs Shakhtar: Ferran, Fermin goals secure 3pts

Fermin Lopez played a major role in Barcelona’s opening goal and then went on to score a stunning second, as the Blaugrana triumphed over Shakhtar Donetsk, preserving their flawless record in the Champions League. 

Xavi’s team surged to a 2-0 lead but had to endure some tense moments in the second half to secure a 2-1 victory.

Ferran Torres initiated the scoring 30 minutes into the game, firing home a rebound from close range after Lopez’s initial shot hit the post.

Lopez added the second shortly after, receiving a precise pass from Joao Cancelo and delivering a precise strike off the post from 20 yards out.

Barcelona thought they had a third goal when Torres found the back of the net, but he was ruled offside due to a mistimed run, and they were made to pay for it.

The visitors pulled one back in the 60th minute, as Heorhiy Sudakov exploited Barcelona’s high defensive line and blasted the ball past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Lopez came close to securing a second goal shortly after, but his curled effort struck the woodwork. Nevertheless, Barcelona held on to claim victory, making it three wins out of three in Group H.
