José Manuel Villarejo, former Spanish police commissioner, has accused Real Madrid of buying referees

A former police commissioner named Jose Manuel Villarejo recently accused the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, of paying off referees to influence football matches.

Villarejo made these claims during an interview with a Spanish publication called RAC 1. He mentioned this while talking about a scandal in Barcelona, where they are accused of making improper payments to someone involved in overseeing football referees.

Villarejo said that it’s not just Real Madrid but all football club presidents who have done such things, including Florentino Perez.

Real Madrid take legal action against the former Commissioner

He suggested that Real Madrid had been involved in similar activities even before the current scandal at Barcelona.

Villarejo also claimed that taking legal action against Perez would be very difficult because he was too powerful and influential, essentially untouchable.

In response to these allegations, Real Madrid issued an official statement. They stated that Florentino Perez has already started legal proceedings against Villarejo for making false accusations on the Catalan radio station RAC1.

Real Madrid is getting ready to play a Champions League match against Napoli in the group stage. The game will take place Tuesday night at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
