Nigerian football legend, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has claimed that only three players currently play the kind of expressive football for which he is known during his active days.
Okocha was famous as an entertainer with the ball at his feet during his days at Eintracht Frankfurt, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bolton. His dribbles, tricks, free-kicks, and stylish ball distribution skills were unmatchable, leading to the popular phrase “so good, they named him twice”.
Okocha, who is now retired, says that those traits that he embodied that made him so famous are no longer common in the game. According to the football pundit, nowadays footballers play with a lot of limitations with little or no identity.

The former Delta State FA chief claimed that only Paris Saint Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, Manchester City talismanic midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, and AC Milan lively winger, Rafael Leao, are still playing his kind of expressive football.
“Well, I think things have changed. It’s difficult really for players now to express themselves,” Okocha said in an interview with LiveScore. “I had the luxury to have my identity and to try and show what I can do with the ball. But now they are all limited.
“You can say that maybe (Kylian) Mbappe looks exciting, as well as (Kevin) De Bruyne, (Rafael) Leao from AC Milan as well. Apart from that, it’s hard for me to pick out one that has that freedom to express himself. It’s now about finding the right moment to do it for the team. Not just for the heck of it!”

In other news, Lauren James, a young England and Chelsea star player, has openly professed her love for Nigerian music sensation Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy.
In a recent interview, James, who has risen to prominence as one of the most celebrated female footballers in the past year, candidly shared her fondness for the Nigerian superstar.
