Four Manchester United players had a heated argument in the locker room after losing to Brighton.

Gary Neville, a former United player, believes that unhappy players might be causing problems for the current manager, Erik ten Hag.

The team’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, confronted midfielder Scott McTominay, while defenders Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof argued due to a poor defensive performance. Ten Hag tried to calm the situation after the disappointing 3-1 loss.

Man Utd Dressing Room Conflict

Ten Hag has taken steps to address the issues. He removed Jadon Sancho from first-team training, and Harry Maguire lost the captaincy and his place in the starting lineup. This has led to questions about team harmony.

Neville expressed concern about the internal dynamics in the team. He mentioned that there could be unseen problems causing discomfort and uncertainty.

He pointed out that Sancho and Maguire’s popularity within the dressing room, along with other factors, might be contributing to the issues.

Manchester United in 13th place

Additionally, some players seem to have shifted from prominent roles to less important ones.

Neville hopes that the team’s struggles are just a rough patch at the start of the season and not a repeat of past challenges faced by United managers like Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal, David Moyes, Ralf Rangnick, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Currently, Manchester United is in 13th place in the Premier League with only six points from five games. They face Bayern Munich in the Champions League next.
