Tobi Amusan, the World Champion in hurdles, starts the World Athletics Championship with a win as she moves into the semifinals. She came in first place in Heat 5, completing the 100m hurdles in 12.48 seconds.

Even though she didn’t have much time to slow down at the end, Amusan won the fifth heat of the women’s 100m hurdles at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary.

Despite starting slowly, she finished ahead of Jamaican Champion Megan Tapper, who secured second place with a time of 12.51 seconds, and Australian Michelle Jenneke, who finished third in 12.71 seconds.

Tobi won the race in 12.48 seconds

Tobi Amusan completed the race in 12.48 seconds, leading Megan Tapper from Jamaica and Michelle Jenneke from Australia, who took second and third places respectively

Megan Tapper finished with a time of 12.51 seconds, while Michelle Jenneke was considerably behind with a time of 12.71 seconds.

Natalia Christofi from Cyprus secured the final automatic qualification spot in Heat 5.

The top two runners from each of the three heats, along with the two fastest runners-up, will advance to the final, scheduled for Thursday, August 24th.

Despite tough competition from her rivals, Tobi Amusan is a strong candidate to win the gold medal in the 100m hurdles once again. Her competitors are closely chasing her and are also performing well.

Tobi Amusan cleared of any doping allegations 

In another news, Tobi Amusan, who holds the world record, has been completely cleared of doping allegations, and her provisional suspension has been lifted.

 She has been permitted to participate in the upcoming World Athletics Championships starting this Saturday in Budapest, Hungary.

Earlier, she was temporarily suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) in July because she missed three tests in a year.
