Reactions: No dey compare

While many stated that the yam was cheaper in Nigeria, some argued that it wasn’t, seeing as those working in the US earned more. Here are some comments:

@odogwu obi: Minimum wage in the US is $7.25 per hour. That’s about 4 hrs work for a cleaner in the US. What’s the minimum wage for an hour in Nigeria. A month is 30k Naira … so do the maths.

@Irunnia: Person wey dey earn in foreign currency? What were they expecting? To buy foodstuffs in Naira?

@onabanjo_ay: They earn $10 per hour boss = almost #400k weekly (for manual labor o). Minimum wage in Nigeria is 30k per month. No dey compare nonsense.

@MzNugge: You’re being modest sef. Here in NY, minimum wage is $15/hour. I hate when folks compare commodities in the US to that of Nigeria. Minimum wage per month in Nigeria is about $38.

@McCartney000: You people have started this nonsense and lies again. They’re ripping you off and you’re seeing it as flex to compare it with Naija. Even if it was in Buckingham palace the price can never be this high.

@iammrpunky: Something wey no reach 2k here.

@Peterki_: Yes it’s expensive in Nigeria but cheaper over there. Why will you buy something with a currency that has value and then convert and compare with a currency that is devalued over 800% of the one that has value.

@Vitamin_Ceey: You Wey japa no know say things go cost?Think man. use ur sense!!! 30$ there is not same as 30$ here! Omo!
