Obas should not tolerate anyhow greetings

He further explained that when a ruler is seen at every party and gathering, it can make people less respectful towards them and gave an example of how Napoleon once said that if he was seen at the theater too often, people would stop noticing him.

Omokri also said that as a respected traditional ruler, it’s important for you to act in a way that commands respect, and that this is especially true when you’re not just a ruler, but also a spiritual leader.

He explained that if a governor bows down to greet an elder, a traditional and spiritual ruler should not accept disrespectful greetings that undermine their esteemed position and that it is not just important in Nigeria, but also globally.

He ended with:

“Who the cap fits, let him wear it.”

Reactions: Oba Benin is like a son to ooni of ife

Many Netizens started comparing the Oba of Benin to the Ooni of Ife, here are a few comments:

@Tosyne72622496: No matter how often you see ooni of ife around, he’s still far ahead of oba Benin, oba Benin is like a son to ooni of ife

@afolabijoe: And Peter Edochi extend his hand for shaking hand with Ooni of Ife which Ooni gladly accept. Edochi saying he’s higher chief in his hometown. Very proud people.

@BBQ__Hills: The greatest of all kings his Awujale of Ijebuland. He does not go to Aso Rock but Aso rock goes to him. Check, most presidents visit him first. Buhari did, Tinubu just acted same. This is the most referred king not Ooni not Oba of Benin. I lie?

@OdogwuGrandPa: Tinubu bowing to Greet Oba of Benin has more to do wit Tinubu character then the status of Oba of Benin. I can’t Remember Buhari Bowing to Same Oba Of Benin in Aso Rock. So get your acts right. Oni of Ife must not copy Obi of Benin before he will be respected, stop twistin issues

@Cguard95: Tinubu is a Yoruba man who is simply playing out culture, so when a non Yoruba plays out his own culture, it’s termed disrespectful because it doesn’t suit your narrative

Reno Omokri advises President Tinubu

Reno Omokri recently praised President Tinubu’s plan to give ₦8000 every month to 12 million households as a way to help them cope with the removal of fuel subsidies and gave him some advice to better it.

He believes that this plan shows compassion in dealing with the difficult economic situation caused by the removal of subsidies on petrol.

Omokri suggests that President Tinubu should make the ₦8000 monthly payment conditional on children from recipient families attending school regularly. To ensure this, he proposes that the principal or headmaster sign payment vouchers as proof of the children’s attendance.
