Customers Empty Shop as Nigerian Seller Collects Old Naira Notes

With the current chaos in the country citizens source desperately for new naira notes to meet their needs. 

A Nigerian lady has shown her almost empty shop from purchases with old naira notes.

Her sales increased tremendously, evidenced by the scanty shelves in the video after she announced that she was still collecting old naira notes from customers who wanted to buy things at her shop.

Many who still had old naira notes in their possession found this act most relieving and took advantage of it. 

The TikTok video shows the lady’s shop with shelves and counters which should normally be stocked with products, almost empty. She attributed this to the increased sale of goods in her shop.

The lady continued to obtain the old naira notes, days after the February 10 deadline issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria elapsed.

She made much sales collecting old Naira notes 

Her video raised concerns among some Nigerians on TikTok about Her location and what bank she planned to deposit the money. 

Some others had their doubts, wondering if she was doing the right thing, while a few others thought what she did was risky. 

However, Netizens didn’t buy her act as they noticed the ceiling of the shop changed in the video.

ICPC Busts Bank, Discovers Hidden N258 Million New Naira Notes

Meanwhile, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, revealed that it discovered N258 million in new naira notes hidden at Sterling Bank vault in Abuja on Tuesday.

In a statement that was made public on Tuesday, ICPC disclosed that both regional and service managers of the banks have been arrested.

The commission said it will continue to ensure that commercial banks comply with the directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
