79 people were arrested after a deadly shootout between Brazilian football fans ahead of the Flamengo vs Vasco da Gama match, which resulted in one fatality and four injuries.
The gunfire erupted at a train station in Rio de Janeiro near the stadium. Bullets struck a 25-year-old Flamengo fan and tragically lost his life at the Campo Grande station, as reported by the Military Police.
The game was subsequently relocated to the Maracana Stadium while first responders rushed the injured to a nearby hospital.

Gunshot and stab wounds were confirmed, and even the police acknowledged that they searched at least 200 individuals at various locations in Rio, resulting in the arrest of 79 individuals linked to the shooting incident.
Vasco da Gama remains in the relegation zone after suffering a 1-0 loss to Flamengo, with Gerson scoring the winning goal.
