This October, we’re getting awesome new stuff to watch, and it’s not only in movie theaters. You can enjoy these exciting titles right on your screens at home.

Ijogbon

The movie is about four teenagers from a Nigerian village who find a bag of diamonds. Chaos ensues when the diamond owners come looking for their treasure, and the teenagers must work together to save one of their friends. It was created by Kunle Afolayan and stars Ruby Akubueze, Kayode Ojuolape, Fawaz from Ikorodu Boiz, and Oluwaseyi Ebiesuwa as the main characters. 

The film also features other well-known actors like Gabriel Afolayan, Adunni Ade, Manuel Bimbo, Yemi Solade, Sam Dede, Gregory Ojefua, Saeed Mallam, Femi Branch, Femi Adebayo Salami, and Dorathy Bachor. You can watch it on Netflix starting from October 13, 2023..

Merry Men 3: Nemesis

After a long wait, the third sequel of the Merry Men movie is coming. AY Makun, Ramsey Nouah, and William Uchemba are returning for this movie, and it seems like it’s going to be a revenge story after someone important dies.

Moses Inwang is directing it, and Darlington Abuda is producing it. The cast includes actors like Sam Dede, Francis Onwochei, Ufoma Mc Dermott, Nadia Buari, Caroline Hutchings, and Regina Daniels.

You can watch it in theaters on October 13, 2023, and Filmone Entertainment will be showing it in cinemas all over the country.

Iyawo Mi

The  next one on the list is a short film, “Iyawo Mi” (My Wife), directed and written by Mo Abudu. It’s a very sad story about a young married man named Kunle. 

His troubles start when he comes home and finds his wife, Eniola, acting strangely. She’s screaming at their kids and neighbours and even threatens to harm everyone.

The film is mostly in the Yoruba language and stars Adedimeji Lateef, Bolaji Ogunmola, Segun Arinze, and Jude Chukwuka.

Her Perfect Life

“Her Perfect Life” is another short film created by Abudu. It’s about a woman named Onajite Johnson Ibrahim, who seems to have a perfect life. She’s 39 years old and has everything – a successful career, a thriving business, a loving husband, and two wonderful kids. But beneath this seemingly perfect life, she’s struggling and wants to end it all.

The main actors in the film are Pearl Thusi and Joseph Benjamin, and there are also supporting roles played by Omawunmi Dada, Uzo Osimpka, Christian Paul, and Mary Lazarus.

You can watch “Her Perfect Life” at Ebony Life cinemas starting on October 6, 2023.

Slum King

Africa Magic is bringing a new TV series called “Slum King” to explore the drama, struggles, and important issues in a big city. This series will consist of 10 episodes.

Directed by Dimeji Ajibola, it features a star-studded cast including Tobi Bakare, Teniola Aladese, Olarotimi Fakunle, Idia Aisien, Elvina Ibru, Hermes Iyele, Bolaji Ogunmola, Philip Asaya, Charles Inojie, Greg Ojefua, Sonia Irabor, Gideon Okeke, and Jidekene Achufusi.

You can catch “Slum King” starting on October 8, 2023, and it will air every Sunday at 8 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv channel 151 and GOtv Supa+ channel 12).
