Nigeria and South Africa will face each other again in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana are old-time African rivals, especially in the qualifiers.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have discovered their opponents for the qualifying stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will occur in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
Nigeria did not make it to the 2022 World Cup, which Argentina won. They were eliminated in the playoffs by their long-standing rivals, Ghana.

Nigeria’s World Cup Qualifiers Group
In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria and South Africa are in the same group, Group C, along with Benin Republic, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Lesotho.
The qualifiers will begin on November 13, 2022, and each team will play at least 10 matches against each other in home and away matches.

Saudi Pro League appoint Ex-Super Eagles defender as Director of Football
In another news, Michael Emenalo, a former Nigerian football player and technical director of Chelsea, has been chosen as the Saudi Pro League’s football director.
He brings a wealth of experience from his time at Chelsea and AS Monaco, where he served as an assistant manager and, later, a technical director.
Emenalo will oversee football operations in Saudi Arabia, with a primary focus on developing the competition and the teams.
