10 things we do not know about Maryam Shetty

Maryam Shettima is a versatile individual who has made notable contributions in various fields. Recently people have being comparing her to Imam Kashim Imam, a 24-year-old first-class Mechanical Engineering graduate, whose appointment was withdrawn by President Tinubu as the Board Chairman of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), since her ministerial nomination was also revoked by Tinubu.

She was born on April 8, 1979, making her 44 years old, in Kano state, Nigeria, and received her early education there too. 

Maryam Shetty  studied biomedical and health science at the University of East London, Stratford and also obtained a degree in Conflict Resolution from Emory University. Maryam Shetty is known for her involvement in advocacy and awareness campaigns in politics.

She is well-known for her philanthropic work, particularly in politics, healthcare, and education.

3. Maryam  played an important role in political campaigns and operations, particularly in the Presidential Campaign Team,  a key member of the Youths and Women Presidential Campaign Team and the Strategic Communication Team.

4. She was part of the 7-member APC Congress Committee that organized the party congress in Delta State.

5. She was initially nominated as a ministerial candidate by President Bola Tinubu, but the nomination was later revoked and replaced by Dr. Mariga Mahmoud, along with another nominee, Festus Kayemo, as announced by President Bola Tinubu.

6. Maryam Shetty is affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and holds a prominent position within the party.

7. She has a family connection to the Kano royal family, being the granddaughter of the late Emir of Kano and a niece to the current Emir and the Emir of Bichi.

8. With a background in physiotherapy, she has worked at Dala Orthopedic and Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospitals in Kano.
